Cooperation over competition-Mitigation over adaptation

Cooperation over competition-Mitigation over adaptation

Mitigation is instituting policies to keep global heating to 1.5 degrees Celsius and help us share and caretake the earth with other people and other creatures.

The urgency of climate change often makes it feel like the window for effective action is closing rapidly, but it's important to remember that it's not too late for climate mitigation. Every action taken today has the potential to reduce future impacts and steer us toward a more sustainable future.

Adaptation is giving up on limiting global heating and accepting the destruction of our agricultural lands in the midwest and the flooding of our coasts, like NY and Los Angeles. That flooding will necessitate those populations moving inland and the rebuilding of trillions of dollars of infrastructure owing to the destruction of property that will have to be written off the book owing to massive losses due to natural causes, but the natural cause will be the US —this is ONLY in the US globally it looks even worse.

Tell your politicians that you want mitigation for climate change and organize towards that goal. You CAN do it. We have the tools to stop global heating.
